Beermas 2021-2022 Day 10 – Lighthouse Brewing – Strawberry Rhubarb Wheat Ale

Today’s beer is by lighthouse brewing co and is a strawberry rhubarb wheat ale.  Lighthouse makes some great beer so I’m looking forward to this.  The beer is light in colour as wheat beers are.  It looks beautiful.  Checking the aroma – wow!  So much strawberry, I love it.  Not sure if I’m catching the rhubarb but I’m missing it I think.  Let’s taste.

Wow – very interesting, the strawberry backs off on the tasting and the rhubarb is still hard to place but there is something happening here. It’s subtly bitter so I think that may be the rhubarb as it doesn’t taste like hops.  Why the strawberry aroma is so strong but not as much in the tasting I’m not sure – let me know if you know how that happens.  Nice balance happening here and it’s not as spicy as some wheat beers. I quite like it.

This would be a great summer patio beer.  Just perfect.  Quite nice though even in winter but I think I’d rather it in the sunshine.
